Seidnazar sired his first winner when the Mark Wallace-trained Derippa strolled home by 2 1/4-lengths in a 900 metre maiden at Newcastle on Saturday. Placed in two of her previous three starts, Derippa led every step of the way under Grant Buckley. Seidnazar (pictured) won just one of his 12 starts, the Listed St Aubins Stakes at Moonee Valley, but his six placings in races such as the Blue Diamond Stakes (G1), Maribyrnong Stakes (G2), Pago Pago Stakes (G3) and Blue Diamond Preview (G3) indicated he was among the best of his generation at two. A son of the speed influence Rory's Jester out of the smart racemare Dangerous Seam (Straight Strike), Seidnazar is a full brother to the successful young stallion Real Jester.

Mr Tweed a 2YO by Minardi ran a promising race for 2d at the Gold Coast over the weekend. This colt's half-sister (Lot 23) is from a winning half-sister to the dam of BRC Brisbane S. winner of 9 races, Ghetto Blaster. Certain Edition herself won 2 races including a metropolitan 2d. Mr Tweed is her first foal to race. Lot 23 is by Nothing To Lose a son of Sky Classic who won 6 races inc. the Keeneland Turf Mile Gr 1, by an impressive 4.5 lengths, G2 Fourstardave Stakes, G3 Tropical Park Derby, G3 Palm Beach Stakes - all on turf.

19/2/2010 - Last Laugh Tar - a half-brother to the Merlo Downs Lot 26 won, giving the mare Cona Belle (NZ) her 5th winner from six to race.
19/2/2010 - Zeditave Plus - a half-brother to the All Bar One filly Lot 78, placed at Ipswich. This gelding has earned prizemoney at four of his seven starts.
17/2/2010 - Telestah La Vista - a half-sister to the Al Samer filly Lot 5, won at Doomben to record her 5th win.

Huff and Puff - that's what those who don't have a Hidden Dragon are doing as he notches up his third winner. Steel Dragon, now two wins from two starts. Obsidian Dragon a winner and just pipped today for black type!

Nastro Blu (by Seidnazar) posted an outstanding run at Eagle Farm on Wednesday for a VERY close-up third. Lot 76 Seidnazar x Picabelle is well worth a second look.

First season sire Al Samer (by Redoute's Choice) notched up his first winner recently when Custom Design won her first race in good fashion.

Riverside Thoroughbreds have a daughter of Al Samer entered for the 2010 Capricornia Yearling Sale. This filly is Lot 5 and is a half-sister to four winners including metropolitan winner Allambie and out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner Donegal Mist and to the dam of the Group 2 winner Sir Dex (also 2d QTC Sires' Produce S. Gr1).

Summary by Merlo Downs:-

The first is Lot 24, a filly out of Coin (by Bellotto), which makes her a 3/4 paternal to Afleetaffairs' first Stakes winner, My First Affair ($168,700).

Also offered is Lot 26, a magnificent colt out of Cona Belle, the dam of Onalar ($316,200), four times Brisbane winner, and winner of the Rockhampton and Mackay Newmarkets. This Afleetaffair colt is closely related to STC Golden Slipper G1 winner, Belle Du Jour.

The third offering, Lot 37, a precocious colt, the first foal out of the winning General Nediym mare, Generally Charming, is bred for two-year-old speed and has the conformation to be an early comer.

The final lot offered by Merlo Downs is a racey looking filly by first season sire, Get Square, a son of Redoutes Choice, who is already making a name for himself as a Sire of Sires. This filly is out of Stakes producer, The Tart (by Conquistarose), dam of Hirschberg ($286,220), winner of the Tatts Mile (L). She is Lot 99 in the catalogue.

"Private Offer" a 2YO filly by Significant Hill ran 3rd (beaten less than a length) at the Sunshine Coast on 22/01/10, this was her second start in a race. "Private Offer" has an outstanding full brother in the Sale under the Palm View (as agent) banner.

Two important results from the Tuesday race meeting at Callaghan Park, Rockhampton:-

Lot 83 is a full sister to Mule Forty Six - a horse with his hoof always on the till having earned prizemoney at 8 of his 10 starts.

Lot 84 is a full brother to Ima Cool Dude - 3 wins from 5 starts and has just won his 2nd race on the trot.
