Capricorn Yearling Sale Graduates Update

Rocky Kwila takes out two WA cups
Dual Western Australian cup winner, Rocky Kwila (Mr Kwila-Royal Academician), who was sold by Markham Stud for $9,000 at the 2002 Capricorn Yearling Sale, has been the star graduate during the past month.
The seven year old was successful in the $20,600 North West Jockey Club Cup (2200m) on the 21 July and 17 days later was again successful in the $36,000 ARC Port Hedland Cup (2200m). With these two wins Rocky Kwila increased the prize money he’s won by a healthy $37,950.
Five year old Harley George (Admiralty-Model Lady), who was sold by Ron and Val Beak for $4,000 at the 2004 Capricorn Yearling Sales, saluted the Callaghan Park judge twice in recent weeks.
The gelding took out the $7,700 Rockhampton Jockey Club XXXX Bitter Handicap (1000m) on 24 July and two weeks later was successful in the $7,700 Rockhampton Jockey Club’s Special Conditions Handicap (1000m). In the process Harley George increased his stakes won by a highly creditable $10,000.
Lady in Silk (Legal Opinion-Taipan Silk), who was sold by Misty Downs Stud at the 2005 Capricorn Yearling Sale, was another product to capture a double, but this time in Gladstone.
The four year old mare won a $5,000 Gladstone Turf Club Class 5 Handicap (850m) on 21 July and backed up on 11 August to emerge victorious in $5,000 Gladstone Turf Club Class 5 Handicap (1000m). In the process Lady in Silk increased her earnings by $6,500.
Evading (Dodge-Glamorous Lass), who was sold by Raheen Stud for $21,000 at the 2004 Capricorn Yearling Sale, was the fourth Capricorn Yearling Sale graduate to collect a double – this time in Central Western Queensland.
On 14 July he was first in the $4,500 Longreach Jockey Club Class 3 Handicap (1400m) and the five year old gelding repeated the dose on 11 August in the $5,000 Tambo District Race Club Class 5 Handicap (1000m). These two victories increased Evading’s career stakes earnings by $6,545.
Well performed King Hunter (Lion Hunter-I’ll Shine), who was sold by James Huxley for $32,000 at the 2004 Capricorn Yearling Sale, was another Rockhampton Showgrounds visitor to added to his already impressive record.
On 31 July King Hunter took out the $7,700 Rockhampton Jockey Club Hahn Super Dry Open Handicap (1100m) and grew his career earnings by $5,000.
Fine Seas (Seascay-Semi Fine) is the fourth 2004 Capricorn Yearling Sale product to shine during July-August.
The five year old mare, who was sold by Maraju Thoroughbreds at the 2004 Capricorn Yearling Sale, emerged victorious in the $7,700 Rockhampton Jockey Club Class 4 Handicap (1000m) and increased her prize money by $5,000.
Innocent Harry (Mr Innocent-Beachfire) was a second winner to be added to the list of successful thoroughbreds sold at the 2005 sale when he took out the $21,700 Rockhampton Jockey QTIS Plate (1100m).
The victory of the three year old gelding, who was sold by Dick Sullivan for $13,000, increased his stakes tally by a significant $9,900.
